Winona Anne Adolphsen, 75, of Centralia, Washington, passed away on February 26, 2026. Born on June 30, 1950, Winona was adopted from Vancouver B.C., Canada as an infant by her loving parents, Lucille and James Cruickshank, who raised her with strong values that shaped the determined and hardworking woman she became. She grew up alongside her brother, Lorwell Cruickshank.
After graduating high school, she completed her degree at Centralia Beauty College. Her strong work ethic followed her throughout her life and career.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Carl Adolphsen, who passed away on December 28, 2015. After more than ten years apart, she finally joined him in heaven.
She is survived by her children, David Gardner, Valerie Thomas, and Jeremy Schrader; her stepchildren, Tim Adolphsen, Laurie Cox, Ann Rubert, and Karla Adolphsen; her grandchildren, Micheal Greenman, Kelsie Greenman, Megan Greenman, Willow Gardner, Lindsey Oberg, Kyle Cox, Chris Adolphsen, Danielle Adolphsen, Katie Adolphsen, Sabrina Ayers, and Jessica Ayers; as well as her many great-grandchildren, who were truly the light of her life.
Winona was as tough as they come, one of the hardest-working women you could ever meet. She dedicated much of her life to Harold’s Burger Bar. After working there as an employee for several years, she proudly became the owner on January 1, 1985. Through early mornings, long days, and tireless commitment, she built not only a successful business but a place that felt like home to many in the community. She retired in 2018 after selling the restaurant, leaving behind a lasting legacy of hard work and determination.
In her free time, she spent countless hours baking and decorating cakes for weddings and special events. She poured love and creativity into every cake she made. She also loved spending time with her family, enjoying trips to the casino with friends, or finding something that needed to be done. She was never one to sit still. She especially loved the holidays and went all out every single year, proudly having the best decorations on the block and creating magical memories her family will treasure forever.
Her strength, independence, and fierce love for her family will never be forgotten. She leaves behind a legacy of hard work, tradition, and devotion that will live on in all who knew and loved her.
She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
