Wilma Jones

Wilma Jones, a long time South Bend resident died with her family at her side on Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at the Willapa Harbor Care Center in Raymond where she had received loving care from a very kind and considerate group of people the last several months of her life. Wilma was born January 10, 1919 in Seaview, Washington to William Kyle and Myrtle Belle (Williamson) Whealdon. She was 95. She married Ragnar Felix (Jiggs) Bearman November 22, 1939 at the Shelburne Inn in Seaview, WA. Jiggs died in 1971. Wilma married Ernest Jones November 6, 1976 in Raymond, WA. He preceded her in death in January of 2000. Wilma was a sports fan who loved to follow the Seahawks and Huskies. She also enjoyed following the South Bend sports teams, especially the ones on which her great grandkids played. She and Ernie rarely missed the afternoon coffee time with their friends at the bowling alley restaurant. Later when she had trouble going out they came to her house for coffee and a visit almost daily. Wilma was always fond of tending her beautiful hanging flower baskets. Wilma is survived by her two children, Nancy (Jim) Curtis of South Bend, WA, and Tom (Judy) Bearman of Warrenton Oregon. Wilma is also survived by eight grandchildren, Tom Curtis of South Bend, Jackie Sanchez, and Julie Lorton all of South Bend; Joanne Jeffs of Utah, Debbie Greco and Becky Payne of Idaho, Charles Bearman of Arizona and Michael Bearman of Maryland, 28 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren. She had a close friend, Jan Furfiord of South Bend. She was preceded in death by her sister Elizabeth (Betty) Walters. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 20, 2014 at Stoller’s Mortuary in Raymond.
