Wilma Marie Iron died Monday, May 15, 2017 at her beloved home on Willapa Bay. She was born August 21, 1937. She and her husband Joe Iron had custom built the house in 2000. Joe preceded her in death. She also was preceded in death by her brothers Clarence Wilson and Elmer Wilson. Surviving family include her brother William (Billy) Wilson and wife Darlene of Kendrick, ID, Michael Swan (son) of Seattle, WA, Linda Gellings (daughter), William Gellings (son-in-law), MaryAnne Gellings (granddaughter) and Joe Gellings (grandson) all of Vancouver, WA. Wilma grew up on Cedar Creek above Kendrick, ID and loved horses as a young girl. She became a Licensed Practice Nurse after receiving nursing training at St. Joseph Hospital in Lewiston, ID. She married Conrad Swan and had two children Linda and Michael. She later divorced and married Joe Iron of Spokane, WA and retired from nursing with Joe at Tokeland, WA. Wilma starting her nursing career working at a nursing home in Lewiston, ID, and she continued working in nursing in Moscow, ID at the University of Idaho Student Health and Latah Care Center. She loved nursing and wanted to be a nurse since she was a little girl. She was a long time member of the VFW auxiliary. She was a loving mother and friend. Private services will be held in Tokeland, WA and later at Gold Hill cemetery for family. Cremation arrangements are in care of Stoller’s Mortuary in Raymond.
