Theresa Holzberger

With great sadness, we announce the passing of our mother, Theresa Holzberger, on September 4th
2022, at the age of 96. Theresa (Maria Theresa) was born on June 22, 1926, to the Neumeier family in
Bad Abbach, Bavaria, Germany. She had two older brothers, Heinrich and Franz, who preceded her in
death.
Theresa (commonly called “Resi” by her German family and friends) came to Raymond in the early 50s
with her husband Franz Holzberger (deceased in 1996) and 3-year-old daughter Anita (Sagen). She lived
most of her life in Raymond, WA until 2018, when she moved to Chehalis, WA to be closer to her
children and grandchildren. She was a devout member of the St. Lawrence Catholic church, and the
Raymond Eagles and Elks where she loved dancing with our dad. She cleaned houses in the early days
and shucked oysters first for Bendickson’s, then Coast Oyster in South Bend for 22 years before retiring in
1988. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking, traveling, and spending time with her family. Not
necessarily in that order.
She is survived by her 3 children- Anita (Bob) Sagen, Frank (Claudia) Holzberger, and Rosie (John)
Lybecker. Sagen Grand/Great grandchildren: Gretchen Sagen/Anthony; Inga (Chris) White/Brandon,
Colby and Hillary; Eric (Linhda) Sagen/Scott and Kyle.
Holzberger Grand/Great grandchildren: Andrea (Andy) Smith/Annalise, Parker, Nat and Ruth; Mike
(Courtney) Holzberger.
Lybecker Grand/Great grandchildren: Steven (Gracie) Lybecker/Clark and Blake; Lucas (Alexandra)
Lybecker/Ethan.
Family and friends are invited to her funeral service at St. Lawrence Catholic church in Raymond on Sept.
27th . Viewing in the church foyer from 10 – 10:50am, Funeral Mass at 11am then interment at Fern Hill
Cemetery in Willapa. Return to St. Lawrence for reception.
In lieu of flowers, Theresa’s wish is to make a donation in her name to Willapa Harbor Helping Hands or
Saint Lawrence Catholic Church Altar Society.
