Robert Morris Sagen

Robert "Bob" Morris Sagen, 80, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at Providence Centralia Hospital. He was born on October 7, 1945, in Spokane, Washington, to Bob and Dolores (Hamner) Sagen. Bob was the eldest of five brothers and moved with his family to Raymond in 1951.

As a teenager, Bob worked at the Texaco Gas Station and Weyerhaeuser in Raymond. He attended Raymond schools, graduating in 1963, before continuing his education at the University of Washington, where he earned a Master of Science degree in Pharmacology in 1968. He began his career as a pharmacist in Shelton while living at the family's lakefront property on Lost Lake.

On December 17, 1966, Bob married the love of his life, Anita Holzberger of Raymond. In 1969, they returned to Raymond to purchase Pay-Rite Drug from Bob's father. Together, Bob and Anita owned and operated Sagen's Pharmacy and Sagen's Laundromat for nearly 40 years, serving their community with dedication, hard work, and genuine care.

Bob embraced life with enthusiasm, and enjoyed spending time on his property in Baleville, hunting in Coloado, and fishing on the Willapa River. He had a passion for the stock market, trips to the casino, dancing, travelling, water skiing, snow skiing, and creating cherished family memories during vacations to Lake Chelan and Disneyland. He was initiated into the Raymond Elks #1292 in 1970, and served as the Exalted Ruler of the Raymond Elks from 1982-1983.

Bob and Anita retired in January 2008 and made their home in Chehalis, Washington, in 2017.

Bob is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 60 years, Anita; his three brothers, Paul (Lolita) Sagen, Mark (Cathy) Sagen, and Russ Sagen; his children, Gretchen Sagen of Montesano, Inga (Chris) White of Chehalis, and Eric (Linhda) Sagen of Pullman; and his six grandchildren: Anthony Sagen, Brandon (Maddie) White, Colby White, Hillary White, Scott Sagen, and Kyle Sagen.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Dolores Sagen (Maestas), and his brother, William Sagen.

Bob leaves behind a legacy of love, hard work, integrity, and devotion to his family and community. He will be deeply missed, fondly remembered, and forever loved by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. at the Raymond Elks Lodge. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance and celebration of Bob's remarkable life.
