Richard Hawks

January 24, 1955 — June 26, 2016

Richard William \\'Rick\\' Hawks, of South Bend, WA, was born in Framington, MA, on January 24, 1955 to Ralph and Eugenie Hawks. After a lengthy illness, God called him home in the early hours of June 26, 2016, cradled in the arms of his loving wife of nearly 21 years. He was 61. After the death of his mother when he was three, Eleanor Ray married Rick\\'s father and became the mom who raised him and his three siblings. At age 17 his father signed the papers allowing Rick to join the Army, where he was in the 82nd Air Borne. He served from 1972 -1974. Back in civilian life, Rick held a variety of jobs. He married Lenette, taking her daughter as his own, and together they had a son. After their divorce, he moved from the Port Angeles area to Raymond. During this time, he decided to follow Jesus and was baptized and joined the First Baptist Church of South Bend. In 1995, he married Senja Watt. After several years they changed their church fellowship to the Cosy Chapel, in Cosmopolis, WA. Rick is survived by his wife Senja, daughter Darcie (Jason) McCabe of Port Angeles, WA, son Timothy (Lisa) of Sequim, WA, and step-daughters Angelina (Mark) Urbain of Tumwater, WA, Jennifer (Nathan) Potter of Richland, WA and Heather (Micheal) Runyon of south Bend, WA. Also surviving are his siblings, Ralph (Joanne) of Utah, Margann (Bob) Boyce of Oregon and Betsy (John) Hitt also of Oregon. Also surviving are his 10 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death is his mother Eugenie, step-mother Eleanor, and his Father, Ralph Sr. A memorial service is planned for July 2 at the First Baptist Church of South Bend at 1:00 p.m. Please come and celebrate with us Rick\\'s new life.
