Ramona May Crawford, a lifetime Pacific County resident died Tuesday, December 1, at the Willapa Harbor Care Center; she was 87. She was born June 22, 1928 in Raymond, Washington to Valfred and Audrey (Deniston) Koski. February 7, 1948 Ramona married her first husband John S. Miller, with whom she had three sons. She and John stayed happily married until June 1, 1979, when John passed away. Much later after John’s passing, she remarried to Edmund Crawford, who also precedes her in death. Edmund and Ramona were wed on June 27, 1998, and stayed happily so, until November 27, 2014, when he passed. Ramona graduated from Willapa Valley High School in 1946. After high school, she became certified as a nurse’s aide, carrying out that career until she retired, having put in 26 years at the Willapa Harbor Hospital in South Bend. When Ramona wasn’t working, she enjoyed spending some of her free time as a practicing member of TOPS and KOPS, attending church at the Assembly of God, or more recently at United Methodist. She also loved to find and save newspapers articles, which include one of children or grandchildren. Aside from her 2 husbands, Ramona is also preceded in death by her only brother Joe (Jean) Koski. She is survived by her only sister Lorraine Peeples of Longview Washington, and three sons; Wayne J. (Paula), Mark A. (Joan), and Daryl J (Kim) Miller, all living in Raymond. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren. A funeral service and reception to follow will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 14, at the South Bend United Methodist church. Graveside services and interment will take place at the Fern Hill Cemetery in Menlo, following the reception.
