Peter Langbraaten

May 6, 1962 — October 8, 2017

Peter Christopher Langbraaten April 6, 1962 - October 8, 2017 Peter Langbraaten was born in South Bend, Washington, to Peter and Rosalie (Michaels) Langbraaten. He was the youngest of eight children and was raised in Raymond, Washington where he spent the majority of his life. He graduated from Raymond High School. He worked for several years in California, prior to moving back to Raymond when he was in his late twenties. Peter enjoyed sports, including basketball and football, and loved watching the Seahawks as well as the Sonics. Before Parkinson\\'s attacked, he could run like the wind and turn on a dime. Peter was one of the toughest, strongest people ever, and even with all he went through, he never gave up, and never complained. While he was still able, he loved driving his electric wheel chair all over town, having to be rescued on many occasions with a dead battery or overturned chair. It seems like everyone in town looked after him and tried to help him out, including the local police and fire departments. Peter had a great sense of humor, and loved to play jokes on people all of his life, always laughing and displaying his charming, mischievous smirk. Even though he was very disabled from Parkinson’s Disease, he always had a smile for everyone he saw. He loved going for walks and seeing people. It meant a lot to him when people would stop and greet him, and although he couldn’t talk, his big smile let everyone know he appreciated them. Peter loved shows on TV, like Animal Planet and National Geographic and of course all sorts of sports. He was preceded in death by his Mother and Father, sister Deanna Paige, and brother David Langbraaten. He was also preceded in death by his niece Tara Lagergren. He is survived by three brothers, Stephen, Jon and Jerry (Kathy) Langbraaten; two sisters, Lauren (Lloyd) Lagergren, and Petra (Dave) Workman; and several nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his cat Lizzie, and loving caregivers, Tyson Mullins and Louise Bales, whom he loved. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
