Patricia Wood

Patricia Laura (Petersen) Wood, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend passed away on August 26, 2023 in Olympia, Washington.

Pat, as she was known by family and friends, was born on December 22, 1932, in Bowbells, North Dakota to Roy and Dean Petersen. She graduated from Raymond High School in 1950. She married Roy Robert Butz, they divorced in 1971. She was married to Harold C. Wood from 1974 to 2006. Her and Harold moved to Olympia in 1996.

Her happiest times were spending time with family, playing cards with her friends, doing puzzles and going to potlucks. Pat celebrated her 90 th birthday with a wonderful party. She loved spending time with everyone and talked about that party for months. The recent Petersen picnic with family and friends meant a lot to her and was enjoyed by all.

Pat is survived by her sister Ann L. Bridges, of Sun City, Arizona; her children, Karen Lee, Lauri Orkney and Max Butz; step-children, Gene Wood, Marsha Thomason, Debbie O’keefe and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Shirley and Alice; and husband Harold C. Wood.

Interment will be at Fern Hill Cemetery in Menlo, Washington.
