Michael Wise

Michael A. Wise, a South Bend, WA resident, died Friday, March 10, 2017 at the Willapa Harbor Hospital in South Bend; he was 72. Michael was born December 7, 1944 in Hinsdale, IL to Robert and Mildred Wise. He was raised in Hinsdale until moving to Colorado in his early adulthood. Michael was a Zen Buddhist Roshi, formally known as Reverend Daiho Zenkai Wise. He had his own Mountain Meditation Center in Colorado. Michael also completed a Bachelor’s Degree in History at the Kenyon College in Ohio. Michael finally moved to Washington in 2005 and has worked as an independent contractor, working on both houses and on local businesses. Outside of work, he loved to spend as much time as he could playing golf, which was his favorite activity. Surviving Michael are his wife Patricia Callaway, nephew Matt, and nieces Allison and Julie Wise. Michael was very well known and liked within the local contracting industry, and among our community as well. He will be missed by many friends locally and in many other places. At his request, there will be no services held. Cremation arrangements are in care of Stoller’s Mortuary in Raymond.
