Linda Wade Peace, age 76, passed away peacefully on June 10, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and kindness that will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew her.
Linda was born in El Paso, Texas, to Dale and Ruth Harris. She later pursued her education in Early Childhood Education at Grays Harbor College, where her natural love for babies and people made her studies especially meaningful.
Linda had a gift for making people feel seen, loved, and welcome. She could make anyone laugh and had a way of turning strangers into instant friends wherever she went. She was known for her thoughtful heart, always sending birthday cards, letters, and keeping in touch with the people she loved. She cherished connection and made sure everyone around her knew they mattered.
Linda found joy in life’s simple and beautiful moments—crafting, writing poetry, reading, cooking, and talking on the phone with the people she loved. She deeply loved animals and had a special place in her heart for horses. She found peace and happiness at the beach, one of her favorite places, where she felt most at home.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Doug Peace, in 2016; her brother, Dale Harris; and sister-in-law, Susie Harris.
She is survived by her children: Dean Peace and wife Tracey Peace, Donny Peace, David Peace, and daughter Desiree Pousette and husband Troy Pousette. She was a proud grandmother to Nikki Peace and a loving great-grandmother to Reila, Katarina, Dante, Nikolaj, and Luna, a role she absolutely adored and treasured deeply. She also held a special bond with Carrie, who was like a daughter to her.
She is also survived by her sister Marcy; her sister Vicky and brother-in-law Don, her brother Van Harris and wife Linda Harris; her sister-in-law Mary and Dennis; as well as many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family, and lifelong friends, including her dear friend Kathy Hilton and family, Kathy's sister Chris, Rose, Gary and many more.
Linda’s love reached far beyond family—she created lifelong friendships and left lasting impressions on everyone she met. Her warmth, humor, generous spirit, and deep love for people, animals, and meaningful connection will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
A Celebration of Life will be held on July 18th at the beach, followed by another Celebration of Life in August at washaway beach, honoring one of Linda’s favorite places.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Children’s Hospital in Linda Peace’s name.
Linda’s love was endless, her heart was open to all, and her memory will live on forever.
