LeRoy Eugene McDonald

LeRoy Eugene McDonald passed away on August 2, 2026 at his home in Frances, Washington. He was 72 years old. He was born May 12, 1954, in South Bend, Washington, to Daniel and Carrie McDonald. LeRoy remained in the Frances area throughout his life, eventually building a home next door to his parents — a place that remained close to his heart and family.

LeRoy shared his life first with his wife, Paula (Strago) McDonald. Together they raised their four children, Nikki (Baldwin) Moore, Chris May, Marci May, and Mindi (McDonald) Bond. Paula preceded him in death in 1995.

LeRoy later married Janice (Campbell) McDonald, and together they raised their daughter, Denise (McDonald) Glassman. Janice preceded him in death in 2023.

LeRoy was a man who truly never knew a stranger. He had a generous heart and was always willing to lend a hand to anyone who asked. Whether helping family, friends, or someone simply in need, he gave his time and kindness freely. His fun and easygoing nature, willingness to help, and genuine care for others touched the lives of many.

LeRoy was preceded in death by his first wife, Paula; his second wife, Janice; his daughter Nikki Moore; his parents Daniel and Carrie McDonald; his sister Carol Nelson; and his brother Daniel “Butch” McDonald.

He is survived by his daughters Mindi (Jeremy) Bond of Casa Grande, AZ; Denise (George) Glassman of Kamiah, ID; and Marci May of Yucaipa, CA; and son Chris (Stacy) May of Tumwater, WA; granddaughters Aubrey Bond, Felicity Bond, Vanessa Bond, and Ashley May; grandsons Andrew May and Aaron Moore. He is also survived by his sister Karen (John) Hodel of Frances, WA; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

LeRoy was deeply loved by his family and by the many people whose lives he touched. His kindness, humor, and willingness to help others will be remembered and cherished by all who knew him. Though he is gone, the love he gave and the memories he created will live on in his family and friends forever.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, September 26th at 1:00 pm at the Swiss Hall in Frances.
