Our Mother, Sister, Grandmother, Aunt, and Friend Kimberly Simone Johnsen passed away at the age of 67 in Olympia, Washington. Kim was born May 9th, 1958 to Robert Johnsen and Matie (Reynolds) Ellingwood. She was born and raised in South Bend, Washington and grew up in the Eklund Park area. She attended grade school and High School in South Bend. Kim graduated from the Air Force Academy High School in Colorado. She later received her beauticians license in Grays Harbor, where she worked for many years doing hair. Kim also achieved a child care license and ran daycare out of her home for many years. She attained a CDL and could drive a big truck with the best of them. She was currently a school bus driver for the Aberdeen School District. Kim loved all animals, especially horses of which she owned many throughout her life.
Kim is survived by her daughters Melissa Hays of Montesano, Amanda Kallio of Aberdeen and her son Travis Johnsen of Aberdeen. Her grandchildren, Jenna Braack of Tumwater, Katelyn Miller of Montesano, Anothony Kallio of Olympia and Kalevi Kallio of Aberdeen, ex-husband Patrick Hays of Montesano. Her sisters Debbie (James) Harden of Lacey, Pam Miller of Raymond, Vicki (Bruce) Rohr of Centralia and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father Robert Johnsen and her mother Matie Ellingwood, ex-husband Kerry Kover, great nephew Gage Rohr and great niece Nicole Kell.
Please join us to celebrate the beautiful life of Kimberly Simone Johnsen on Tuesday, July 1st. The viewing will be at 11am and funeral service at 12pm at First Lutheran Church - 103 Adams Street, South Bend, WA. Graveside Service will be at 1 pm at The Fern Hill Cemetery, with reception back at the church afterwards.
