IN LOVING MEMORY
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Jonathan David Workman (Dave) on June 7, 2026, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. We are comforted by knowing he has been reunited with his grandson, Broden.
Dave was born August 29, 1947, to Rev Earl P and Paula E Workman. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Emily Workman, and his beloved grandson Broden Nations. Dave leaves behind his wife, Petra, his children
Brandon (Mandy) Borden and Leah (Dave) Nations, and grandchildren Devon, Carson, Allie, and Owen. He is also survived by his brother Fred (Judy) Workman, and his sisters Freda (Ralph) Dockter and Naomi (Dale) Golding, as well as many nieces, and nephews.
Dave attended Willapa Valley High School, and lived in the Willapa Valley nearly all his life. He worked primarily as a Timber Faller, and loved his time in the woods. He loved hunting, fishing, clam digging, boating, and camping, as well as listening to music and playing his guitars. He also enjoyed feeding the birds, and he loved all animals. He loved going to the races watching his son Brandon and grandsons Devon and Carson. He had a huge capacity for love that extended to his family, friends, and his home. He was a fierce protector of his family.
Dave had smiling eyes, a quick wit, and a keen sense of humor. He loved a large life full of love, fun and mischief. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
An Informal Celebration of Life for Dave (Papa Dave) and his sister Emily (who died ten days before him) will be held on Saturday, August 15 at his home at 1 Holcomb Rd, Raymond, from 2:00 to 5:00 PM.
