Obituary

Jerry Rohr, 79, passed away on May 3, 2026. Born on October 14, 1946, Jerry spent his life grounded in faith, family, hard work, and service to others.

Jerry graduated from Willapa Valley High School in 1964. At the age of 19, he made a lifelong commitment to Christ, becoming a born-again Christian—faith that would guide him throughout his life.

In 1967, Jerry was drafted into the United States Army and served his country in the Vietnam War with the 1st Cavalry Division. Though he returned home without physical wounds, his service was a defining chapter of his life. He was honorably discharged in 1969 and returned to Raymond, Washington.

Jerry was engaged to Laura Bale and the two were married on June 15, 1969. Their marriage marked the beginning of a lifelong partnership built on love, shared purpose, and perseverance. Together, they attended Washington State University, where Jerry continued his education following his military service.

After graduation, Jerry worked in several locations, including Miles City, Montana; Denver, Colorado; and various positions in Washington State, primarily in government service. Despite these opportunities, Jerry and Laura shared a strong calling to build a life centered on family and operating a family dairy farm.

In 1978, they fulfilled that dream by starting their own family dairy farm. Farming became not just an occupation, but a way of life—one that demanded grit, sacrifice, and commitment. In 1988, Jerry and Laura purchased their family farm outside Raymond, where they worked side by side until 1993. That year, they downsized their cattle operation, and Jerry returned to the workforce to continue providing for his family.

Jerry retired in 2010 but never truly stopped working. He continued making hay on the farm each summer until 2020, when the dairy farm was sold. Jerry and Laura retained 15 acres, with plans for the next chapter of their lives together.

Jerry was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and man of faith. He is survived by his wife, Laura Rohr; his children, Justin Rohr (married to Krissy) and Larissa Rohr; his beloved granddaughters, Khloe, Addyson, and Riley; His older sister Barbara Brunstad, younger brother Bruce Rohr and wife Vickie and numerous nieces and nephews. Also brother and sister-in-laws Randy & Vicky Bale, Larry & Sue Bale, David & Kathy Bale and Rick & Amy Moyer. He was preceded in death by his son, Matthew Rohr (1975–1988), whose memory he carried in his heart always.

Jerry will be remembered for his quiet strength, unwavering faith, love for the land, and deep devotion to his family. His legacy lives on through the lives he touched and the family he nurtured.
