Irene Willa Josephine Akers a Lebam resident, died June 11, 2015 at her home in Lebam. She was born November 27, 1933 Tacoma, WA to Charles and Margaret (Hughes) Warner. She is survived by daughters Becky Nicolich of San Diego, CA, Margie and Bob Garman of Copalis Beach WA; grandsons James, Michael, Charles Garman and Ryan Love. Irene is also survived by great grandchildren William, Elizabeth, Maria, Helen, Jessie, Alexandria, Karma, Brenten, and Ransom Garman; step great grandson Levi Lytle, great great granddaughter, Elena Sotomish; as well as a brother Ralph and (wife) Kay Warner, sisters-in-law Suzi Swenson and Peenie Warner and a brother-in-law Charles Nicolich. She was preceded in death by her husbands Anthony (Tony) G. Nicolich, married almost 45 years and Robert D. Akers Sr. married almost 18 years. Also preceding her in death were a brother Donald Warner, and her mother and father, Margaret and Charles L. Warner, as well as sons Kerry M. and Rodney C. Nicolich. Irene was raised on a dairy farm near Yelm, WA where she went to school. She was a housewife, mother, mill worker, nurse’s aide, and managed her parents’ dairy farm when they were on vacation. She enjoyed bowling, earning many trophies and awards and belonged to the 600 club. She was an avid reader, enjoyed gardening, houseplants, and genealogy. She loved her cats and dogs. Memorial services will be held at a later date.
