(July 5, 1933 – November 27, 2025) Gloria (Bailey) Jouper
Gloria M. Jouper went to be with her Savior on 11-27-2025, at the age of 92, surrounded by her family.
She was born at the old South Bend Hospital in South Bend, WA on July 5, 1933 to Hubert and Mignon (Smith)
Bailey. She grew up in South Bend, attended Broadway grade school and graduated from South Bend High School
in 1951. In 1952, she met Edwin Jouper Sr., and they were married in 1953. They celebrated 72 years of marriage
on June 11, 2025.
Gloria’s favorite hobbies were bird watching, riding the logging roads and watching all things nature had to offer.
She also loved crafting, crocheting, painting and sewing. Gloria taught Sunday School for about 35 years and was
an active member of the South Bend First Baptist Church, acting as a Deaconess for many years. Gloria took part in
all her kid’s activities. She was a Girl Scout Leader, 4H Leader, Cub Scout Leader and helped with the Boy Scouts.
She also attended PTA and all sports activities that her children were in. She continued going to games for as long
as she was able. Her favorite pets were chickens.
Gloria babysat most of her life starting at age 11. She operated an in-home daycare for over 40 years while raising
her own children, making many life-long friends along the way.
Gloria is survived by: 4 sons, Edwin Jr, of Shelton, Jeffrey (Patti) of Outlook, Richard of South Bend and Terry of
Chehalis; 4 daughters Cindy of Olympia, Wendy (Burt Stigall) of Shelton, Candace (Roger) Jaime of Warrenton, OR
and Lisa (Eloy) Sanchez of South Bend. She also had 6 grandsons, Nathan Jouper, Richard Stigall, Mark Stigall,
Jeffrey Nissell, Derek Johnson, Kyle Johnson, 5 granddaughters Marisa Ank, Chelsea Hartman, Jani Jouper, Jennifer
Walker, and Rachel Jouper, numerous great-grandchildren, step grandchildren and a great-great grandchild on the
way, sister Florence Ester and brother Don (Pat) Bailey, along with 6 nephews and 4 nieces. Gloria also had several
special friends, the Bisbee family, the Leon and Zeferino families, Galen and Mary Nell Ellingsen and a special Aunt
Dorothy Anderson of Centralia.
Gloria was preceded in death by her husband, Ed, who passed away on November 24, 2025, her parents Hubert
and Mignon Bailey, sister Alta Moore and brother-in-law, Clarence Moore.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Ed and Gloria on December 27, 2025 at the South Bend Chamber of
Commerce beginning at 1 p.m. All are welcome. In lieu of flowers, Gloria asked for donations to Willapa Harbor
