Garry Dale (Luke) Lucas age 71, passed away on Wed. Nov. 2, 2016 at Grays Harbor Community Hospital, Aberdeen, WA. Luke was born Feb. 2, 1945 in Vacaville, CA to Woodrow Wilson Lucas and Mary Ellen Hicks Lucas, both deceased. Siblings include 5 sisters: Norma Jean Luff of Albany, OR, Betty Bugh and husband Keith of Raymond, WA, Elva Christensen, deceased, but husband Harold still resides at home in Lynwood, WA, Audry Kuzniczci and husband Henry of Olympia, WA as well as Beverly Patrick of Raymond, WA. Luke served in the United States Army from 1964 to 1972. It was recorded that he was distinguished by his outstanding excellent service in connection with military operations against a hostile force in the republic of Vietnam and awarded the Bronze Star Medal. His loyalty, diligence and devotion to duty were in keeping with the highest traditions of the military service and reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Army. He also served in Tehran, Iran in 1970. Luke married Blanche Mullins-Milton, June 22, 2002 at the Baptist Church in South Bend, WA His wife was the love of his life and his sister-in-law, Laura Brougher was like a sister to him and he loved her and her siblings very much. Luke’s deep abiding faith in God and his quiet loving ways will be remembered always. Luke was very talented and enjoyed working. He was a jack-of-all-trades guy and tackled many difficult jobs. He loved his John Deere tractor and loved life to the fullest. Graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, 2016 Fern Hill Cemetery in Menlo, WA where full military honors will be accorded. A luncheon will follow at the Crossroads Church, 707 Commercial St. Raymond, WA. Arrangements are in care of Stoller’s Mortuary in Raymond.
