Frances J. Gibbons, a South Bend resident, died Friday, March 20, 2015 at the Willapa Harbor Health & Rehab Center; she was 79. Frances was born March 1, 1936 in Raymond to Oscar and Ella (Jane) Bentley. Frances was a Willapa Valley High School graduate. On June 20, 1953 she married Melvin Gibbons in South Bend. Together they raised three daughters who survive her, Rhonda Westlund & Alan Stewart of Olympia, Teresa & Brian Olsen of Bremerton and Laurie & Harold Hobi of South Bend and a son Steven Gibbons of Shelton. She is also survived by three sisters, Lynn Holbrook of Olympia, Shirley Kiser of Puyallup and Betty Main of Gig Harbor; 13 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister. Frances worked for the Dairy Queen when it first opened in Raymond. She was an Avon Consultant for some time; she worked for the former Bendicksen’s Seafood in South Bend as well as a few years mostly recently spent at the South Bend School district. Frances enjoyed her time as a member of the Lady Elks in Raymond, she enjoyed crafting, painting, cooking, sewing, decorating and canning; everyone loved her blackberry pie. Most of all spending time with her family was most important. She will be deeply missed. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. June 20, 2015 at the Raymond Elks Lodge. Cremation arrangements were in care of Stoller’s Mortuary in Raymond.
