Elizabeth Maxine Boone, 97 years old, died peacefully surrounded by her loving family at Chehalis West Assisted Living, on Sunday, August 9, 2026.

Elizabeth (Betty) was born September 26, 1928 to Rupert and Margaret (Koehle) Marty, both immigrants from Switzerland.

Betty attended school at St. Mary's Academy in Toledo, Washington.

Her first job was at Hillcrest Nursing Home. After that, she worked for the Timberland Regional Library, where she became well known and loved in the community as the Bookmobile Driver.

Betty married Elmer Boone Jr. on April 13, 1950, in Toledo Washington. Together they had four children.

After retiring, they spent many good times in Yuma, Arizona, in their travel trailer. 

In addition to their four children, Betty and Elmer had 10 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. 

Mom loved football (especially the Seahawks!), camping in their trailer, and most of all her grandchildren. 

Mom was preceded in death by her husband, daughter, and six brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her sons, Bob (Satrina), Jay (Laurie), and Rick (Denise).

A graveside service will be held at Fern Hill Cemetery, Monday, August 17, at 12:00 Noon, followed by a gathering at St. Lawrence Catholic Church.
