Edie Inez Layman

Edie Inez Layman, 63, a lifelong Raymond resident, passed away Sunday, May 17, 2026 at St. Peters Hospital in Olympia, Washington.

Edie is survived by her son Tyson Layman and granddaughter Tylee, her brothers Chester, Hank and Monty Layman, sisters Cori Gill, Willa Emerson and Valerie Rowe, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, and many special friends that were important to her. She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.

Edie was born September9, 1962 in Morton, Washington to Chester and Brenda Layman. She grew up in Raymond and graduated from Willapa Valley High School, class of 1981. Growing up in Raymond is where she met her lifelong friend Valerie Zambas. She had multiple jobs throughout the years, including Weyerhaeuser Security Guard, Dairy Milker, and Caregiver. 

Edie was an avid horseman and belonged to the Willapa Saddle Club. She enjoyed the outdoors and loved the beach. She was loved by many, made friends wherever she went, and accepted most as family.

A celebration of life is planned for August.
