Dorothy Ekrem

Dorothy Louise Ekrem, a longtime South Bend resident, died Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at the Willapa Harbor Care Center in Raymond; she was 98. Dorothy was born September 29, 1917 in McCormic, WA to Thomas and Kate (Koski) Knitch. She was a member of the South Bend Lutheran Church, she also spent over 40 years serving as a member of the South Bend Eagles Auxiliary. Dorothy enjoyed knitting and crocheting in her spare time. She is survived by two sons, Alan Ekrem of South Bend, and Don (Pam) Ekrem of Port Townsend; a daughter Judith (Jerry) Alley of New Mexico; two grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and 1 great great grandchild also survive her. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Ralph Ekrem in 1989. No services will be held at this time. Cremation arrangements were in care of Stoller’s Mortuary in Raymond.
