Donna Nissell

October 2, 1936 — September 26, 2022

With heavy hearts the family of Donna Nissell announces her passing on September 26, 2022. Donna
was born on October 2, 1936 in Olympia, WA to Ralph and Lucille (Price) Cutts.

Donna graduated from South Bend High School and went on to study secretarial work at Grays Harbor
College. It was around this time she met the love of her life, Fred Nissell. They were married on
December 3, 1956 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Raymond. They had 34 great years
together prior to Fred’s passing in January of 1990.

Together, Donna and Fred raised four children – Nancy, Stuart, Brian and Chris. With their family,
Donna and Fred loved to go camping in their younger years and the Oregon Coast was a favorite
destination. Donna also had the opportunity to travel and enjoyed trips through the western United
States as well as a once in a lifetime trip to Europe with her friend Lynne Miller. Donna was also an avid
reader and has a large collection of books to show for it!

In her later years, after Fred’s passing, Donna spent time with her companion and significant other,
Leslie Fifield. They enjoyed each other’s company until Les’s passing in June of this year. Donna was
also preceded in death by her parents Ralph and Lucille as well as her older brother Robert Turnbow.
Donna is survived by her children Nancy (Dennis) Sliva of Menlo, WA; Stuart (Kelly) Nissell of Everett,
WA; Brian (Anne) Nissell of Centralia, WA; and Chris (Becky) Nissell of Menlo, WA. She is also survived
by her 9 grandchildren: Danny Sliva, Kevin Sliva, Heather (Adam) Fodge, Bryce (Brooklyn) Nissell, Kassidy
(Tyler) Skordal, Jon (Bethany) Nissell, Kaity Nissell (Tony Kimball), Joe (Sarah) Nissell and Matt Nissell.
Also surviving are her brother Mike Cutts of Eugene, OR, 14 great-grandchildren as well as numerous
nieces, nephews and close friends.

A celebration of life will be planned for a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be
made in Donna’s name to Willapa Harbor Helping Hands.
