Carla Deane Kubin

Carla Deane Kubin died Wednesday, February 12, 2020 at Tacoma General Hospital; she was 61. She was born July 22, 1958 to Herald Dean and Carol Lorraine (Corliss) Burks in Raymond, Washington. On August 27th, 1990, Carla became married to the love of her life; Johnnie Kubin. Many people knew Carla from Galey’s Grocery, where she worked for 25 years. Some of Carla’s hobbies were playing crossword puzzles, cross stitch, art and pinochle. She also loved camping in their travel trailer with her husband and her 2 dogs Cody and Sooner. She was known as a very courageous, and inspirational person who was thankful for life, loved her family, and was quite a fashion savvy woman. She loved her dachshund dogs, particularly “Sawyer” who passed away on December 20, 2004. Carla was preceded in death by her parents Harold and Carol Burks, her step brother Ray Garder, step mother Lois Burks, and sister Christi Burks. She is survived by sisters Debi (George) Burks Manavian of Arizona, Angi (Greg) Burks Cain of Salmo, British Columbia, brother Harold (Tina) Burks of Raymond, and by numerous nieces and nephews. She will truly be missed by her family and anyone who was lucky enough to have known her. A celebration of life is scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday, April 25th, at the Raymond Elks Lodge.
