Billie Shade

Billie J. Shade, a lifetime Willapa Harbor resident died Thursday, June 18, 2015 at the Willapa Harbor Care Center in Raymond; she was 85. Billie was born May 18, 1930 in Bay Center, WA to William E. and Nettie Rebecca (Gray) Axford. Billie married Richard E. Shade May 5, 1949; after 63 years of marriage he preceded her in death in 2012. Together they raised two sons, Richard C. Shade of Raymond, Lawrence E. Shade of Bernice, OK and a daughter Sharon Bennett of Aberdeen. Billie was also survived by a sister Pearl Shoop of South Bend and her beloved dog, Mickey. She was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother. She will be remembered as a homemaker who loved the outdoors especially camping and fishing. She also enjoyed crocheting in her spare time. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, June 29, 2015 at the Fern Hill Cemetery in Menlo, where she will be interred beside her late husband.
