Barbara Jean McDowell was born December 28, 1946 and was proud to grow up in the Willapa Hills as a tomboy. Her passion to help others was amazing. She was once bitten by a Beaver trying to free it from a trap. She had a scar on her arm which she proudly displayed when telling her story. Everyone that met her quickly learned of her passion for family. She had a unique way of making you feel special. She worked tirelessly arranging family get-togethers that brought joy to all. She went to school at Raymond High School and went on to graduate from Central Washington University, receive her teaching degree, and then her Master’s in Counseling from Antioch University. Barbara enjoyed traveling and spent some years living in Hawaii. She loved skiing, golfing and dancing. She is survived by her son Bryan, daughter-in-law Julia, granddaughter Brooke. Her daughter Laura, son-in-law Keith and grandchildren Amelia & Logan. Her five siblings Sharon, Richard, Ronald, Deborah, and Steve and many cousins, nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed. A graveside funeral service will be held Thursday April 1, 2021 at the Ferndale Cemetery in Menlo, Washington at 11 o’clock. Arrangements are in care of Stoller’s Mortuary in Raymond, Washington.
