At the rising of the sun on the early morning of May 9, 2026, our loving dad, Allan “Al” F. Lougheed, 84, passed away peacefully with family by his side. He was brought home the day before and spent the evening by the campfire with his children, family and friends. A campfire was one of his favorite things to enjoy during his many hunting trips, gatherings or whenever with family and friends. Besides being the best dad, brother, grandpa, uncle, cousin; he has life long friends to this day. He never met a stranger and was always willing to help others.

He was born in Aberdeen WA on April 18, 1942. He attended and graduated from Montesano High School. His classmates would say he was “ quite a character”. He followed his “itchy feet” into the timber industry working for Weyerhauser setting chokers. He set off to Alaska and spend time as a fisherman in the Bering Sea, Cooks Inlet and Homer searching for salmon, halibut and tuna. He enjoyed telling stories of his time out at sea and his encounters.

He returned to WA and became a Sheet Metal Worker for International Local 150 and 66 in the Seattle/Tacoma area. He was a journeyman before being voted in as Business Agent, a position he was elected into for 28 years. Three of his children followed him into the trade and made their own way to become foremen and more. He is still known and respected by among many journeymen in the trade.

He retired at 57 and became a small cattle farmer and served on the Conservation Board in Raymond WA. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting trips, clamming, fishing and spending time in the great outdoors; especially with his children, grandchildren, family and friends.

He is proceeded in death by his parents, Eugene and Sylvia Lougheed. Al was survived by his older brothers, Mike Lougheed and Kirby Lougheed; who were said to always be challenging their parents as youngsters. 

He is survived by his children: Mark (Lisa) Lougheed, Joneen (Tom) Lougheed Perkins, Steve (Tracy) Lougheed, Amy McGrath-Lougheed, Jason (Kristi) Lougheed and his step-son, Scott McGrath. He is also survived by several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

There is a Celebration of Life for family and friends to share stories and memories at the Moose Lodge in Montesano WA, Saturday, June 20, 2026 from 12 noon to 4 pm.
