Adella Fern (Knobel) Hougan was born on August 21st, 1927 in Minnesota. She lived most of her nearly ninety years in Washington State; Yakima, Seattle, Port Orchard and South Bend. She and her husband Edgar, who passed away in 2009, carefully chose South Bend for their retirement home, becoming active members of their community. Adella was a long term board member of Sunday Afternoon Live, an active member of 1st Lutheran Church of South Bend, and played bridge and pinochle whenever and wherever she could find a game! Adella passed away July 5th, still living in her beloved South Bend/Raymond community. She will be greatly missed by her daughter Valerie, her sisters Marilyn and Judy, her special assistant Cindy, and all of her family and friends. We will gather to celebrate Adella\\'s life at 2 o\\'clock in the afternoon on Saturday, August 5th, at 1st Lutheran Church of South Bend. All are welcome. Donations may be made to Sunday Afternoon Live if you would like to give a gift in Adella\\'s memory. Cremation arrangements were in care of Stoller’s Mortuary in Raymond.
